“Formulas” is a book I love. Its great way of describing each Chinese Herbal Formula by the way it works gives me the feeling of watching ancient heros and villains at war (the enemy is of coarse the diseases and the strategies are the way the Formula fights back…)Each Formula and each herb that composing that Formula is presented by its 3 names: Chinese, English & Hebrew. Kfir had managed to maintain the Chinese essense and spirit with his Hebrew words. The ancient prescriptions become alive and one can learn a lot from those 3,000 years old scriptures. The index with the Westren diseases and how to find the Formulas to treat them is very useful. Each herb in the Formula has an alfanumeric code which refers one to its location in the first book “Materia Medica” to see more details about that particular herb. In that way the 2 books are interwoven with their information to help one understand better. In short, a great book for practitioners(like me), for students of Chinese Medicine and for anyone who is intrested in classical knowledge. Get it!

This book gave me a clear and friendly intoduction to Chinese Medicine, and especially to its use of Herbs. I think it is a great and valuable tule for students of Chinese Medicine, and also for non-professionals, in Israel (or anyone who reads Hebrew). It lets you understand the principles of Chinese Herbal Medicine, the explanations of what causes illneses, and how the hrebs work and why, not just the bottom line of “what herb to use when”. It’s a very useful book, user-friendly, and easy to read. Recommended – great book!
